Childhood oddities 🥴

It was while at leech lake I learned the hard way that it's unusual to allow leeches to attach themselves to one's feet and lower legs. As soon as I had confirmation of their harmless nature, I became fascinated with 'feeding them' . The next thing I knew, a gang of kids came for me. I recall a handful sized crowd but I had no idea who turned me in 🥴. Not only was I verbally disciplined outside among the other kids, but my first experience ever at someone's cabin was overwritten by the details that scarred. The hostess, who was responsible for me that weekend, called Mary and asked whether and how to discipline me. Mary gave her permission to yell at me and also to spank me. Which she did. In front of her children. Imagine having to stay another night with this family after the humiliation of such a public display of discipline 🥺
