The thing is, I'm not sure how to handle it. Once I learned how reactive you were to my wearing a mask (how the FUCK does that hurt you? Your overreaction was kind of embarrassing) I realized you likely wouldn't be receptive of information about covid that was different than what you had been told.
You told a story of getting covid yourself. You went to the doctor who prescribed Ivermectin and very soon after taking it, you got better. You went on to say that you had a friend who was being treated for cancer and when he got covid, his doctors wouldn't even offer it to him, and denied it to him when he outright asked.
You just couldn't comprehend. I think you used the word "crazy" to describe it.
I WANTED to solve the riddle for you but
I'm pretty sure it would have immediately dissolved communication that day. In hindsight, the visit had already been soured, and I was just waiting for it to be over. That's likely the real reason I didn't
speak up for myself, my nervous system is so sensitive to wrath, I avoid it like the plague.
(covid pun muthafuckin intended)
DETOUR:
That was another thing. After my
having been sick since 2007 with a post viral illness and TELLING you how dangerous covid might be for me, you had the audacity to say that you just couldn't 'get it how I'm still so "affected" by the pandemic since you've all just gone back to normal' (this was last spring or summer btw, and yes, I'm STILL MASKING! Because I'm listening to the experts)
You even made a point to tell me that when you see people in a mask, you're thinking, oh, geez, take it off already 😐.
Again I ask how does their mask affect YOU?
BACK TO MY ANSWER to the ivermectin riddle:
Let me make a very obtuse comparison to make a point:
Let's say that instead of going to the doctor, you decided to drink a shot of mustard every hour. You noticed after 10 hours, your covid
symptoms were gone.
Would you then be promoting
the drinking of mustard as a cure?
What's important to know is that covid is a virus, and a virus behaves the same as you described happening to you, without intervention in most cases.
That's the difference between
Correlation and Causation.
Correlation is drinking mustard and feeling better.
I call it a chance meeting.
Aka without causation.
What likely happened is you saw a doctor that was under the (debunked) opinion that it might be helpful.
When your friend went, they likely had a doctor that was aware it was misinformation. (Plus I'd imagine they were extra vigilant because he'd have a compromised immunity.)
You saw I used the word debunked
right? We've since learned it was anti vaxx groups that were spreading the disinformation. I don't call it misinformation because that would imply they don't know better. They're hawking snakeoil products. That means they're profiting from the lies. That's the most vile. They know full well what they're doing.
Fear mongering.
Which is ironic
since they've said that's
what the actual experts are doing.
Rather than admit the ACTUAL experts are simply INFORMING us, they project their ignorance and call it political. 🙄
Here we are,
entering the 4th year, and the numbers
and data show that it's everything the experts been saying. We're reminded daily that the numbers reported
are exponentially UNDER counted. Asymptomatic cases exist but aren't counted,
people who do not test and instead
call it a cold, flu, or allergies,
people who don't require or seek medical care aren't counted.
Also important to note that even MILD cases can become long covid (they ARE!)
Chronic illness does not discriminate. I
should be enough evidence of that.
I was the energizer bunny until a post viral illness got me.
Shame on YOU for shaming me for
doing the right thing.
