PSA:
If you think masking sucks now,
Wait until your chronic illness
Dictates EVERY decision for the rest of your (stifled from here on out) existence
If you've ever felt disregarded,
Wait until the most trite of responses to requests for help come from the people to whom you once felt closest. 😕
If you think you're tired now,
Wait until your damaged mitochondria reduce you to the capacity of an infants sleep needs. Except no matter how much sleep you get, you'll NEVER feel rested again. I'm 56 and I don't WANT a fucking nap. Yet here I am.
I'm required to take them. Daily. Sometimes, more than one. 16.5 years and counting. Til death do we part.
I don't get to choose.
Infantilized and geriatricized simultaneously.
Wear the mask now or wear it later.
You choose.
